Depression is one of the most common and isolating mental health concerns in our society. Children and adolescents may suffer in silence from depression for months or even years before parents become aware. Depending on the nature of your depression, I will employ a number of techniques to help you improve your mood. This may include cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and elements of mindfulness-based relaxation and Acceptance and Commitment therapy.
Throughout treatment, we will measure your depressive symptoms to evaluate your progress. My goal is not to keep you from ever experiencing sadness (that would be impossible!), but to equip you with different skills you can use to improve your mood and cope better with life.
