The adolescent years can be a wonderful time in the life of a young person. However, this time period, which involves a lot of change, can be hard at times.
Rates of depression and anxiety rise as kids move into the teen years . Self-esteem and body image also become a concern. Add in more disagreements with parents, increased academic demands, the pressure to do well in school and get into a good college, and in-person and online bullying into the mix, it's easy to see why the teen years can be especially hard.
My goal is to help you through your challenges so you can move from "surviving" to "thriving."
During my graduate, residency, and fellowship years, I specialized in the treatment of adolescents and young adults.
I enjoy working with individuals in this age range because they are able to think more abstractly about concepts and appreciate my use of humor in therapy.
